Rock for Darfur Event
I scored some tix to rhis impromptu show. With proceeds of merchandice and tickets going to Darfur for humanitarian aid,it was a win/win night.
The first set set was casual and the crowd was well pleased. For many of us it was our first chances to be seeing Nershi an a pub. Drew Emmit is always a treat. I have seen him uplclose at many a Festival, and as always he delivered on fiddle and mandolin.
During the second set, their was some role changing. Nershi played bass for a spell and if I'm not mistaken, Drew Emmit played acoustic six-string along with the entire band for a stretch.
Looking at the setlist I am upset to see that I walked out before the final encore. "Black Clouds" is one of my favorite Cheese songs from way back, and also was my choice for a politicaly motivated show. The song gives good advice for anyone living in Babylon, or Darfur for that matter.
